The project originated from the transformation of an existing single-story house, reimagined and built upon its previously executed foundation. The clients approached us with a vision for a more extensive functional program than the original design allowed. The primary goal of the redesign was to maximize visual openness. Positioned on a hillside overlooking the city of Rzeszów, the house takes full advantage of its panoramic views. Working within the footprint of the existing foundation, we developed a volume that accommodates a richer program while ensuring that the main living spaces open generously toward the surrounding landscape through expansive glazing. The elongated form of the house is articulated by two prominent dormers, which not only break the geometry but also bring light and functionality to the upper floor. To balance the dynamic silhouette of the building, the exterior palette was intentionally restrained to just two finishes: pastel plaster and graphite-colored sheet cladding. This approach creates a home that is contemporary yet grounded, open to its environment while rooted in the practical framework of an existing structure.
